Road Trip Weekend

Last weekend we took a road trip to Sedona with the goal of seeing many sites along the way and doing some hiking.

First stop, the Deer Valley Rock Art Center just north of town to see some petroglyphs - from many ages between 10,000 and 700 years ago.Next, the Sinagua Indian ruins at Tuzigoot National Monument.
Then a drive up through Oak Creek Canyon - so excited to see some beautiful fall color.Sunday morning, a hike near Oak Creek in Sedona looking up at Cathedral Rock. And finally, on the way home a stop at the V-V Rock Art Historic Site for some more petroglyphs. Although farther out of the way and a smaller site in area, it was far more interesting that the Deer Valley Center.
We are so lucky that for the most part Tyler is a good traveler. He is excellent while out hiking and looking at the sites. And he is pretty good in the car as long as we stop every couple hours for him to stretch out and eat.

On a side note, I have just discovered that the pictures in my blog get stored in my Picasa Web Albums. (I don't know where I thought they went before.) I discovered because it told me that my storage is full. I knew it was close to full awhile ago because I had to start putting our traveling pictures on Bernie's Picasa site instead of continuing on mine. But now it is really full. So I have to either 1) delete some of our Europe pictures from my web albums (and back them up where?) or 2) pay $20 a year to Google to upgrade my storage. Undecided for the moment.

The picture of Bernie and Tyler with the fall foliage is awesome.
